Meet The Team at Maze Men's Health

This is a place where you can be yourself, tell your whole story (and be heard) and receive treatment uniquely attuned to your needs. Here, we treat the whole person.

Undoubtedly, this patient-centric approach begins with Michael A. Werner, MD, a board-certified urologist and microsurgeon who opened Maze in 1994. Early on, he decided to specialize in sexual function and male fertility because these were clearly fields that could make a big difference in peoples' lives — whether to restore men to good sexual health or to help couples have a child. His peers know him as a world-class surgeon, but his patients know him best as a kind, caring man — that rare doctor who is as compassionate as he is medically adept.

Not surprisingly, everyone at Maze is passionate about what they do. In addition to Dr. Werner, the team includes expert clinicians, a sexual educator, and a team of therapists. Together, they consider all facets of your general health and medical history — whatever it takes to get the full picture — and then develop a treatment plan. No one else applies this breadth of expertise to sexual health.

This level of attention to detail also continues as we monitor the progress of your treatment. We have our own lab on the premises to ensure accurate testing and analyses. We also have private exam rooms in-house should it be necessary for you to produce a specimen. Being comfortable goes a long way towards reducing anxiety.

An important part of providing comprehensive care is enhancing your options for the future. Maze Laboratories offers sperm banking should a medical condition arise in which your fertility is compromised.

To round out our story, we note that there is also a Maze Women's Sexual Health practice, with a similar breadth of experts poised to address female sexual health, either independently or in concert with a partner.

Sexuality and reproduction are among the most exciting, creative chapters of being human because they so strongly express our desire to join with and to love others. It is our great joy to be doing work that is so vital and life-affirming, and we look forward to serving you.

The Maze Group

At Maze we treat the whole person, by which we mean, we employ medical, psychological, and physiological expertise to fully understand you, your lifestyle and your medical needs. This patient-centric approach naturally starts with our Medical Director, Michael A. Werner, MD, a board-certified urologist whose focus has always been to make a difference in people’s lives. The hallmarks of his process extend to each of the other areas of our practice — compassion, medical sophistication, an openness to new techniques and innovations, and an exclusive focus on sexual and reproductive health.
